I have now been beading for over 13 years of my life and foresee that it will always be a part of who I am.  When I was in college and after I had graduated, I had the opportunity to work at a local bead store for almost 8 years.  I had originally enrolled in art classes full time, wanting to concentrate on graphic design and marketing, but left school with a Bachelor’s in Business and a Minor in Fine Arts. I ultimately began to create my own jewelry designs and write/illustrate tutorials for the projects as well as teaching bead classes at the store.

About 6 years after graduating from college, I opened my own business (Beads To Live By in Jackson, MI) with my husband, Christopher.  With endless help from my mother, Sheila, we continue to write and illustrate our own patterns as well as teach classes and sell lots of beautiful beads!  My love affair with the arts is not limited to jewelry.  I enjoy honing my skills by drawing with colored pencils and occasionally painting with acrylics and water color pencils.  Traveling also soothes my soul and brings new life to my creativity.  My time in the Caribbean and Southern France in the last two years has reinvigorated my jewelry inspiration and born some of my most popular classes.

From the time I was young, I knew I wanted to work in the arts in one form or another, and I count myself as truly blessed that I can now do something that I love so much for a living!
